Library Opening Hours

Jul.30th – Sep.30th

 Weekday: 9 am to 5 pm
 Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm
 Sunday and holiday: Closed

 *The library will be closed on August 15th & 16th due to summer closure.

■Closed Stacks Hours

Shizuoka Main Library

  • Application to use materials in closed stacks: 9 am to 4:45 pm on weekdays.
  • Enter the closed stacks (for faculty staff and graduates): 9 am to 4:45 pm on weekdays.
  • Materials in the closed stacks are not available on weekend and holidays.

Hamamatsu Branch Library

  • Application to use materials in closed stacks and enter the closed stacks: 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays.
  • Materials in the closed stacks are not available on weekend and holidays.

Use of facilities and equipment in the Library

Shizuoka Main Library

  • Please refrain from staying for a long time.
  • Seats, facilities and equipment in the library have been reduced.
  • Personal booths, Audio visual, “Library Laptop for Loan” service are available for use. Once a day for up to three hours.
  • PC Work Area is available, but the computer is not.
  • Harvest Room is closed during the Intersession period.
  • Seminar rooms are available only for applications by representatives of faculty and staff for classes and other purposes.
  • Gallery is available. Please follow our cautions.
  • Lounge is available for use as seating. Please refrain from eating and talking.

Hamamatsu Branch Library

  • Please refrain from staying for a long time.
  • Seats, facilities and equipment in the library have been reduced.
  • You can use a personal booth up to three hours. You can make a reservation only for the day. If there is no reservation, you are allowed to extend usage.
  • Gallery is available. Please follow our cautions.
  • Group study rooms are not available.

ILL Services

As usual.

National Diet Library Digital Collection service

National Diet Library Digital Collection service is available (9 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 5 pm on weekdays). You can use it about three hours.

Visitors

Visitors will not be able to use Shizuoka University Library for the time being.

  2022 eBook Campaign now on (Jul.11th, 2022 – Feb.10th, 2023)

In order to strengthen support for home study and online classes, the library is now offering a full-text trial reading service of “KinoDen” (an academic Japanese eBook platform provided by Kinokuniya).

Shizuoka University members can try reading the full text of around 55,000 KinoDen books for 5 minutes per title.
Shizuoka University students can make a purchase request to the library.
KinoDen can also be used from off-campus through “GakuNin” with your SHIZUDAI ID.

  • You can search for eBooks available in Shizuoka University Library on the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) and can read them from the linked URL in the search results.
    (Note that unpurchased eBooks that are eligible for the full-text trial reading service cannot be searched on the OPAC, so please search for them on the KinoDen website.
